Advice from an Industry Veteran (games)
- Studios have multiple projects at once, so don’t be too upset by a single rejection, keep applying every month or two, because projects change frequently and their expectations change
- Internal postings happen first, referrals always happen first
- Connect, network, hard
- Do contests etc to build even more
- You won’t get your dream job immediately, its okay to have other jobs to gain experience
- Studios generally have a cap on referrals to ensure there is new blood
- It is better to work up your strengths more than weaknesses. But it doesn’t mean to ignore the fundamentals
